Winnie Che came to the U.S. from Vietnam in her twenties with very little, and built something remarkable from it — starting in the back kitchen of a Seattle sandwich shop, and within a decade, opening “Little Saigon,” one of the city's first Vietnamese restaurants and a beloved fixture of the International District. She built a business and a family at once, and like so many of us, often put herself last.

A routine check-up after giving birth changed everything. Under the care of Seattle oncologist Dr. Saul Rivkin, Winnie began treatment for second-stage breast cancer. Chemotherapy took its toll — cold spells, nausea, hair loss, a body that felt like it wasn't hers anymore — until she made the hard choice to pause and find another way forward.

Alongside better sleep, movement, and nourishing food, that herbal formula helped guide Winnie all the way back to strength — so much so that she went on to have two more children in her early forties.
